The U.S. Department of Defense announced Mimar Architects Inc. as the winner of a 10 Million Dollars contract on Thursday October 27th, for engineering, architecture and other services.

The agreement, for which other 64 firms placed a bid, involves extensive building, construction and renovation performed on the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, as well as facility planning, obtaining permits and regulatory approvals, and U.S. Green Building Council leadership in energy and environmental design.

Mimar Architects Inc. is expected to perform and complete work in Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont and Delaware, by October 2016.

The contract obligates $85,293, set to expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

Our Principal, Kal I. Bhatti has been honored by the National American Institute of Architects as “Citizen Architect” for his civic contribution to the State of Maryland. The Howard County Executive has honored Mr. Bhatti with the pleasure of joining the Howard County General Plan Task Force. The Governor of Maryland recommended Mr. Bhatti for the Smart Growth, Boards and Commissions.

As we continue to grow, our vital role in the development and planning of Baltimore, MD and the built environment grows as well.

We are currently part of the efforts for planning Baltimore’s new Redline along with the planning of the Corridor City Transitway (CCT) Transit Oriented Developments along the I-270 corridor.

We have successfully completed several alternate studies for the Metropolitan Grove Transit Oriented Development and started developing additional studies on the CCT line for King Farm Transit Oriented Development.

Baltimore County has announced the progress of the “Federal Woodlawn Center”, which has ignited our participation in the growth of Baltimore, Maryland as we partake in the development of the Security Mall area Transit Oriented Development and the Highlandtown/Greektown Transit Oriented Development.

Mimarch is pleased to announce that we now provide Environmental Graphic Design services and would like to take this opportunity to welcome the newest members of our team: Julia Dougherty, who is now our Principal Environmental Graphic Designer, Mike Carnes, who is our leading CADD Manager and Maurice Wilson, new project designer and Fabio Basile, Digital Designer.

Ms. Dougherty’s environmental graphic design projects include identity programs, wayfinding systems for campus and institutional sites, transportation sites, mixed-used developments and residential communities. Drawing on her experience of working within architecture, landscape architecture, and interior architecture, and environmental graphic design firms, Ms. Dougherty is well versed with the development process and coordinating identities between the printed materials and the built environment.

Mr. Carnes has extensive experience in the preparation of construction drawings for aviation, maintenance, residential, educational, and federal facility projects; maintaining and enforcing CAD and design standards, coordinating with sub-consultants, and construction administration.

Mr. Wilson has a Bachelor in Architectural and Planning from Morgan State University. He is proficient in developing 3D graphic designs in Sketch-Up, Revit and AutoCAD.

Mr. Basile has extensive experience in digital graphics, web design and print graphics. His diverse graphics background includes Web Design/Optimization, Content Management Systems, Graphic Design, Print Deliverables, 3D Modeling and Animation.

Mimar Architects, Inc. is pleased to announce the award of On-Call contracts as prime consultant.

Mimarch has been awarded two Federal contracts and two State contracts. The first being an IDIQ contract from the Department of General Services for architectural/engineering services.

While competing among other firms across the Mid- Atlantic, Mimarch won an On-Call services contract with the Department of Justice – Federal Bureau of Prisons, and a regional IDIQ contract for several Naval Facilities throughout the Mid-Atlantic region for the Department of the Navy with a $10M annual fee, renewable for five years.

MIMARCH shared victory with several other prominent Maryland firms who won other similar contracts, such as, PB Americas, Whitman Requardt and STV Inc.

Additionally, Mimarch just received notice of our latest triumph; we were awarded an On-Call contract for the Maryland Stadium Authority for architectural/ engineering services.

In addition to our Prime victories, Mimarch has had the pleasure of sharing success as a subconsultant to several Large National A/E firms for numerous transportation related facility projects and
projects for Baltimore City, which included contracts with Maryland Transit Administration, Maryland Port Administration, Maryland Transportation Authority, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, and Baltimore City Public Schools, Baltimore Department of Public works, Baltimore Department of Transportation.
